Mechanical filter:
Working Principle
The use of one or several filter media, under a certain pressure, so that the original liquid through the media, to remove suspended solids, colloids, sediment and other impurities, so as to achieve the purpose of filtration. Impurities in the water are adsorbed and intercepted by the particle surface of the filtration media, with the filtration, impurities clogging media pores, when a certain operating time or import and export pressure difference reaches a set value, need to carry out backwashing, restore the performance of the filtration media.
Structural composition
– Filtration tank:mostly made of carbon steel, stainless steel or glass fiber reinforced plastic,
the shape is mostly cylindrical, the size of the treated water and filtration flow rate and other factors to determine the internal support structure to carry the filtration media.
– Filtration media: common quartz sand, anthracite, manganese sand and so on.
Quartz sand has high hardness, chemical stability, low price, can intercept suspended solids and colloids; anthracite density is small, adsorption is good,
in addition to organic matter and part of the chromaticity, often with the quartz sand to form a double layer of filtration; manganese sand is used to remove iron, manganese ions.
– Inlet and outlet pipes: the inlet pipe introduces the water to be treated into the tank, the outlet pipe transports the filtered water to the subsequent links,
valves are installed on the pipe to control the direction of water flow and flow rate, and the inlet pipe may be equipped with a flow meter and a pressure gauge.
– Backwashing device: including backwashing inlet pipe, backwashing outlet pipe and related valves,
when backwashing, the water flow enters from the backwashing inlet pipe,
flushes the filter medium in the opposite direction, and discharges the impurities through the backwashing outlet pipe, and some of the filters also have an air-assisted backwashing system to enhance the backwashing effect.
